Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst in the IT industry in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Senior Cyber Security Specialist will play a crucial role in securing digital resources by designing, developing, and implementing exhaustive security solutions. You will be responsible for optimizing the innovative use of our security tools to enhance their productivity and efficiency. This leadership role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated security and facilitate Incident Response Team through identifying opportunities for improvement under the supervision of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

A typical day:

1. Maintain, design and implement effective security procedures to ensure the security of digital resources.
2. Continuously monitor and optimize SIEM and other security tools including Zscaler and Sentinel technologies and identify opportunities to integrate and automate them to enhance security efficiency.
3. Develop and implement effective security solutions to mitigate risks and respond to emerging threats and design meaningful metrics to measure security posture and program effectiveness.
4. Stay updated on current security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
5. Configure and manage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions to analyze and evaluate security events and maintain playbooks to ensure effectiveness and to automate security incident response tasks.
6. Collaborate with IT staff in investigating security events and responding to critical events and provide guidance and mentorship to security team members.

Successful candidates will have:

1. At least 5 years of experience in Information Security, focusing on security engineering; relevant direct work experience is acceptable.
2. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
3. Experience with SIEM solutions such as Microsoft Sentinel and zero-trust platforms such as Zscaler.
4. Skilled in developing and maintaining playbooks and knowledgeable about UNIX and Windows OS.
5. Experience with scripting languages or any other development language.
6. Able to identify opportunities for optimization, integration and automation of security tools and ability to evaluate new security tools and technologies.
7. Demonstrate expertise in understanding Security Principles and Practices.
8. Background with security in a cloud computing environment would be an asset.

Total rewards:

1. $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually.

3. The salary range for this position is between $95,000 - $110,000, based on individual capabilities and experience.
