Senior Cyber Security Specialist, West Coast Security, Brampton, ON

We are looking for a collaborative team member to be part of our innovative Cyber Security, Privacy and Network team. In this role, you will be required to utilize your experience and knowledge in recommending, assessing, building, and implementing various security technologies, solutions, and processes. You’ll use your energy and passion to build deep, meaningful relationships with Loblaw subsidiary companies, and rely on your foundation and solid understanding of cyber controls to secure the network, infrastructure, and application stacks.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Review security roadmap and incorporate industry best practices into the cybersecurity governance program for Loblaw subsidiaries.
  2. Configure and implement security technologies and frameworks, develop security solutions, automation, and documentation.
  3. Conduct security assessments on projects, applications, and suppliers.
  4. Provide recommendations to improve Loblaw subsidiaries’ cybersecurity processes and reduce their risk exposure, balancing security needs and customer experience.
  5. Provide guidance on how to build and deploy secure solutions or implement compensating controls for IT infrastructure on-premise and in cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, and OCI.
  6. Research cybersecurity trends, guidelines, and adversarial activities (i.e. Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)).
  7. Consult with the Incident Management team to respond to cybersecurity events and incidents.
  8. Review and write policies, plans, standards, assessment reports, and strategies in support of organizational cyber activities.

What you Bring:

  1. Proven experience with enterprise-level cybersecurity programs.
  2. Strong background in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or related technical field.
  3. You have or are in the process of obtaining at least one of the following industry security certifications: CISSP, CRISC, CCSP, CSSLP, CISA, CISM, CCSK.
  4. A collaborative nature, working with diverse teams, from business leaders to individual contributors and the ability to influence with a sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership.
  5. Hands-on experience working in a Cyber Security role both in Windows and Unix environments.
  6. Understanding of current Security Threat Landscape and direct involvement in Incident and Vulnerability Management Exposure or proven experience with the principles of ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management, IT Security and Operations, and NIST CSF Framework.
  7. Technical and administrative experience in various security technologies including Cloud Security, EDR, Email Security, Firewalls, SIEM, Container Security, Secure SDLC.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
