Who we need

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Design, we are hiring a Senior Curriculum Design Specialist. You will be crucial in designing new academic programs, across a variety of credential types, disciplines, and audiences. You will evaluate course offerings within new and existing programs, and ensure all courses meet the needs of students, achieve the institution’s highest standards, and align with regulatory guidelines. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, course developers, and faculty to design and develop face-to-face, online, and blended curricula, including instructional frameworks, learning materials, rubrics, assessments, and more. A key part of the role involves maintaining curriculum design handbooks and guidelines, mentoring Curriculum Design Specialists on standards and practices, and ensuring program outcomes align with institutional and regulatory expectations.

This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days per month at our Fredericton campus.

Who you are

You are passionate about creating accessible, innovative teaching and learning experiences that follow best practices in education. You want to channel your experience in a rare and unique opportunity to design, develop, and deploy the elements that make up a resilient blueprint for new programs at the post-secondary level. This is an opportunity to lay the groundwork in a purposeful, structured manner to successfully gain regulatory approval and launch new programs at a scaling post-secondary education centre.

You will partner with the Regulatory Affairs team as a curriculum development expert, taking direction and offering feedback and opinions. You will analyze and translate the program goals into comprehensive curricula, including but not limited to course titles and descriptions, learning outcomes, assessments and content.
  2. Develop. You will lead and support the design of new, innovative, and quality academic programming. You will integrate innovative and effective instructional strategies, technologies, and resources into curriculum design to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  3. Lead. You will oversee curriculum design handbooks and guidelines, update practices, and mentor team members in curriculum design standards. You will lead special curriculum projects, aligning them with strategic educational goals and ensuring they adhere to project timelines.
  4. Evaluate. You will review curricular needs and recommend instructional and assessment strategies that account for regulatory requirements, align with program and course learning outcomes, and model accessible, authentic, and culturally responsive pedagogies.
  5. Continuously improve. You will stay current with educational research, pedagogical trends, and advancements in curriculum design and share relevant insights with the team.
  6. Communicate. You will track and report on progress on curriculum development and renewal projects and proactively identify and communicate risks to the timely completion of curriculum projects.

You have:

  1. The experience. You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree. You have proven experience as a curriculum designer, instructional designer, or similar role. You have a track record of developing and implementing high-quality curriculum materials for face-to-face, online and blended curricula.
