We are currently hiring for the position of:

SENIOR COORDINATOR, ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

  • The Senior Coordinator, Finance Accounts Payable is responsible for ensuring the accurate entry and timely payment of: Canadian invoices, foreign currency invoices, film distributor shares, concessions and retail vendors, credit card payments, external film programmers, Festival hotel & venues. Along with maintaining an excellent relationship between TIFF and its external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shall include but not be limited to:

  • Record and process payments for Canadian invoices.

  • Record and process payment of USD invoices as well as other foreign funds invoices via wire transfer.

  • Record and pay recurring contract fees per schedule for Technical and Programming contractors related to Festival contracts.

  • Corporate Card administration: Includes tracking usage of the corporate credit cards, pulling weekly reports, following up any inconsistencies, and performing monthly reconciliations.

  • Review vendor statements received to confirm that all balances agree with balances in our system.

  • Reconcile control accounts such as: Accrual Credit Cards, Deposit Accounts, Postage and AP Sub Ledger, and prepare journal entries as required to reconcile.

  • Maintain records and of all seasonal petty cash requested by staff/departments; ensure expense reports and cash balance (if any) are returned on time; complete reconciliation and allocation from petty cash account to expense accounts by JE.

  • Provide/Supervise the training for Finance interns on a seasonal basis.

  • Ensuring hard and soft copy documents are filed in accordance with Finance requirements and ensure integrity of annual archiving.

  • Training new staff on Netsuite purchase order process.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB GRADE & SALARY:

  • Job Grade 2

  • Job Grade Salary Range/Annually: $59,000 to $63,000

TARGET START DATE:

  • May 5, 2025

WORK LOCATION:

  • Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5

  • Weekly in-office requirements:

    • Minimum 2 days (November to April)

    • Minimum 3 days (May to October)

  • Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in Accounting from a recognized college/university, and minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a general accounting capacity.

  • Proven business analytical experience.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with superior attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of banking systems and cash and treasury management products.

  • Proficiency in MS-Excel, MS-Word and Google Suite.

  • Experience with Netsuite (Financial System) an asset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and professionalism.

  • Ability to uphold the utmost of discretion and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
