Senior Cook Position - Italian Kitchen

We are currently seeking 2 permanent full-time Senior Cooks for Italian Kitchen located at 860 Burrard Street, Vancouver BC.

Job Overview:

Cooks perform some or all of the following duties:

1. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
2. Prepare and cook special meals as instructed by the chef.
3. Supervise kitchen helpers.
4. Assist with inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
5. May set up and oversee buffets.
6. May clean kitchen and work area.
7. May determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements, and monitor and order supplies.
8. Assist with training kitchen staff.
9. Cooks may specialize in preparing and cooking ethnic cuisine or special dishes.

Key Requirements:

1. FOODSAFE certified (within 2 weeks of employment).
2. 4 years minimum experience in a similar environment.
3. Must possess a passion for food and developing knowledge of all cooking methods.
4. Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through as necessary.
5. A clear thinker, with the aptitude to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
6. Capacity to work well under pressure, meeting production schedules and timelines for service periods.
7. Ability to communicate in English.

Two positions available at $23-24.50/hour pending experience and skill. Permanent, full-time. Extended health and dental after 6 months of employment.
