ERM leads and contributes to successful projects with the world's leading organizations. This role will support project teams with engagement activities, strategies, research reporting, and in-person or virtual meeting support. This position will focus on projects related to Canada’s North and Western Canada, working in partnership with Indigenous peoples; however, there is opportunity to support a range of projects - versatility and cross-collaboration across service lines is an important factor underlying ERM’s success.

YOUR ROLE

You will support consulting, engagement and communications activities for the ERM team. This may entail:

  • Providing input on a variety of regulatory, permitting, and environmental impact assessment tasks in support of clients’ projects.
  • Supporting management and leadership activities with communities, stakeholders, and Indigenous Business Relationships, and supporting project design and permitting processes.
  • Supporting development and strengthening of a focused Indigenous Knowledge program and service offering for the Canadian Regulatory and Permitting team.
  • Supporting project delivery activities such as impact assessment scoping, coordination, engagement planning, permit application scoping, application information requirements, technical writing, data and regulatory research and review, collection and integration of input from ERM’s subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Supporting development of environmental management plans, coordinating with SMEs, compiling mitigation measures for discussion with clients, delegating work requests to GIS and desktop publishing.
  • Supporting and contributing to business development and marketing activities in the company through conducting research on client needs, preparing marketing materials, and participating in proposal preparation.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with ERM business partners, clients, and ERM team members.
  • Supporting Traditional and Indigenous Knowledge management and inclusion by conducting research, supporting engagement planning and execution with Indigenous community representatives, and compiling, synthesizing, and analyzing the resulting information (e.g., from web or literatures searches, interviews, or surveys) for inclusion into regulatory applications and supporting materials.
  • Supporting the writing, proof-reading, formatting and preparation of proposals, reports, presentations, manuals, strategies, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assisting with the design, planning, delivering, and reporting on meetings, workshops and stakeholder and Indigenous engagement sessions as well as providing support on virtual meeting platforms.
  • Supporting preparation of presentations and materials.
  • Attending and supporting business development related or project related events including leading presentations, panels, notetaking, and any other project related activities.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s level degree in a discipline related to natural resource management, sustainability or environmental science.

For the Senior Consultant, Scientist – Indigenous Engagement and Knowledge Integration (Mid-Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $69,172 – $81,900 (CAD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.
