The Role
We’re looking for Senior Consultants who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant (which is a Manager level position), this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues. In addition to enabling consulting excellence through the Five Pillars, the specific requirements for this position are below.

As part of our overall portfolio, we help clients create a successful business outcome through the M&A Process. We focus on Integration Management, IT Assessments, Production Synergies, IT Operating Models, Portfolio Rationalization, Cost Strategies, and enabling business process optimization to transform the business and contribute to the overall success of the merger.
Responsibilities
- Consult directly with F2000 clients and provide post-merger integration advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business challenges.
- Serve as a true management consultant; conduct AS-IS assessment of the acquired company’s IT application & infrastructure landscape and define the interim / end state of the acquisition.
- Design solutions that reduce the overlap of IT in the merged companies by rationalizing application portfolios and IT organizations.
- Support IT Strategy engagements and guide clients to successful business outcomes by identifying ways to improve the IT operating model and enhancing process.
- Serve as a Senior Consultant in client-facing settings; design our approach, identify appropriate tools and methodologies, lead client workshops, perform analyses, draw conclusions, formulate strategic recommendations, and develop business cases and roadmaps.
- Assess client’s and target’s IT organizations and define operating models aligned to business objectives.
- Conduct and lead Application Portfolio Rationalization assessments to determine the best technology disposition of client’s IT application portfolio.
- Conduct IT Cost Optimization assessments to help IT leaders assess their IT budgets and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Qualifications
- 4 - 8 + years of experience in a mix of Consulting, Digital Strategy, Advisory, Technology, and/or managing programs for transformations for large-scale initiatives.
- Experience leading post-merger initiatives spanning Business-Driven IT Strategy, Business Operations & Process Transformation, IT Organization Performance, IT Operating Models, Application Portfolio Rationalization, Global Sourcing Transformation and Merger/Divestiture Planning and Execution.
- Previous experience leading or managing teams to successful client outcomes.
- Subject matter knowledge and working understanding of current digital trends.
- A track record of developing business cases to support strategic business initiatives.
- Leadership skills that bring out the best in others.
- High-impact presentation skills and the ability to develop detailed and compelling deliverables.
- The ability to manage high-level stakeholders and expectations.
- Being entrepreneurial, proactive, insightful, productive, pragmatic, and practical.
- The willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, depending on the project.
- MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred; Bachelor degree required.
