Job Description

Our client, a leading wealth management, planning and advisory firm for ultra-affluent families, is seeking a Senior Consultant for a direct hire role. Offices are in Toronto, Ontario.


The Opportunity

The successful candidate will lead a dedicated consulting practice group that provides portfolio management and financial consulting services to affluent families. Their responsibilities will focus on managing the group including developing and coaching a team. The successful candidate will be interested in pursuing a long-term career providing advice to affluent families. This role provides an excellent opportunity in a growing organization.


Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
  • Completed relevant investment management experience (“RIME”) towards being able to be registered as an Advising Representative or Associate Advising Representative with the firm*
  • CFA or CIM designation

Primary Responsibilities
Client Relationships
  • Relationship acquisition, development, and management, demonstrating a strong ability to build and nurture long-term client partnerships.
  • Portfolio management responsibilities for clients on a discretionary or non-discretionary basis.
  • Creating, reviewing and delivering materials for client meetings.
  • While portfolio management is the primary responsibility, the Senior Consultant must also navigate broader aspects of client needs, including planning, structuring, treasury management, administration, and family governance.
Strategic Investment Planning
  • Drafting and/or reviewing Investment Policy Statements and any strategic family documents.
  • Presenting selected planning considerations to client families and coordinating with other family office functions (e.g., estate, philanthropy, tax, etc.)
  • Supporting ongoing advice and analysis related to asset allocation and portfolio construction.
  • Analyzing client families’ existing investments to evaluate their alignment with overall risk- and return objectives.
Investment Recommendations
  • Supporting the recommendation of investment opportunities to client families within the context of their objectives, needs and overall assets.
  • Coordinating with client families’ tax advisors to help them assess asset placement considerations.
  • Overseeing proper investment execution for client allocations.
Reporting and Monitoring
  • Analyzing and liaising with the Investment Team to provide client families with ongoing monitoring information on their investments.
  • Overseeing client families’ investment reporting and generating custom portfolio related reports and analysis.
  • Coordinating with internal team members to ensure all client reporting is presented accurately.
Managing People
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of your consulting team’s deliverables.
  • Leading your consulting team with guidance, mentorship and advice for development.
  • Conducting regular performance reviews of team members.

Base Salary: $200,000. Final determination of salary will be based on an evaluation of experience, education, budget, etc.
