We’re seeking a skilled Commercial Underwriter to manage a growing portfolio of new and renewal business, focusing on production and profitability. In this role, you’ll assess complex risks, determine pricing, and negotiate with brokers to drive positive outcomes. You’ll also maintain broker relationships, market our products, and provide insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and grow a book of business with a focus on underwriting complex risks.
2. Analyze applications, set pricing strategies, and ensure compliance.
3. Prepare quotes, address broker inquiries, and negotiate terms.
4. Build and sustain broker relationships through regular field visits.
5. Analyze underwriting outcomes and report insights to management.
6. Mentor team members and collaborate on cross-selling opportunities.

Your Background

1. 5+ years in underwriting with advanced technical expertise.
2. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting software.
4. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; professional designations are a plus.
