Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Key Accountabilities:

1. Provides reliable and scalable cloud platform (especially Containers/Kubernetes) expertise to engineers
2. Develops and tests automation code to specifications and standards (Manulife, SDLC, Agile, etc)
3. Builds and codes moderately complex software
4. Investigates new platform solutions to enhance service delivery experience
5. Resolves persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams
6. Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to best support testing and deployment in continuous integration/continuous delivery environment

Job Requirements:

1. Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies especially Containers/Kubernetes required
2. Technical expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools
3. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
4. Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can address and support business strategy
5. Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
6. Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
7. Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next.

1. Straightforward tasks likely to be completed to an acceptable standard
2. Able to achieve some steps using own judgement; supervision needed
3. Drives less than 30% of the time in paired programming
4. Possesses analytical skills and appreciates complex situations but only able to achieve partial resolution
