Due to continuing growth in our Engineering Design Organization, we are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer based out of any of our GTA offices. This position will be integral in the development and growth of GHD's Civil practice.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

1. Working closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on civil design for linear infrastructure
2. Coordinating all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design
3. Developing or verifying the technical scope of a project
4. Completing civil designs following the budget and schedule
5. Participating in design coordination meetings and addressing critical issues
6. Working closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision making related to the civil design
7. Ensuring the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project
8. Ensuring quality control processes are being followed
9. Mentoring and developing junior staff
10. Representing GHD at Client meetings when required

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects.

What you will bring to the team:

1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized college or university
2. A Professional Engineering (P. Eng) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required.
3. Minimum of 10 years of extensive technical design experience
4. Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on linear infrastructure
5. Experience working in a Design-Build environment
6. Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential
7. Experience working in an integrated 3D environment
8. Team building and mentoring skills
