Team and Job Overview

EDC’s Strategic Change Services team is looking to increase capacity and build strength to support EDC’s corporate strategy and change agenda. Our service model fosters an enterprise approach for our organizational change management practice and builds change leadership as a corporate capability. We support EDC business strategies and strive to enhance EDC’s capacity to initiate and embrace change through strategic change consulting and support on key corporate initiatives that assess risks, determine the impact on people and processes, plan for, and implement sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with EDC teams and employees at all levels to assess the scope and impact of change, define a process for managing it, and develop change plans to execute on its delivery.
  • Designs detailed plans for each change project to document process, sponsor/stakeholder roles, outputs, and target dates.
  • Tracks progress and identifies critical path issues.
  • Provides change management advisory services.
  • Builds relationships among Executive Leaders and drives results without reporting relationships.
  • Advises and guides sponsors, impacted teams and individuals through the change process.
  • Champions the use of the EDC’s agile change management framework and tools.
  • Identifies process improvements and integrates these into ongoing updates of framework and tools.
  • Acts as a key content expert and resource for all inquiries and activities related to the EDC change management framework.
  • Builds relationships with other corporate support teams such as Corporate Communications, Project Management, Business Partners, and Learning and Development to establish respective roles within change projects and partner in the delivery.
  • Coaches and mentors other team members by sharing experiences and expertise.
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in change leadership research and behaviours.
  • Leads others to solve complex problems. Leverages analytical skills to implement data driven decisions.
  • Works independently, often in the face of ambiguity, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • May lead multi-functional projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view.

Screening Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology or other related field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in employee and/or organizational development or change management
  • Advanced knowledge of change management principles and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational development principles and practices (supporting change management in the Risk Management Maturity)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing change working in an Agile context
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including making presentations
  • Excellent organizational consulting, customer service, and facilitation skills at all levels within the organization
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Strong creativity and ability to work in an abstract or conceptual mode
  • Ability to quickly understand and gauge corporate climate and culture

Assets

  • Change Management certification (such as Prosci)
  • Understanding of Design Thinking practices, with a focus on Customer Centricity
  • Strong understanding of organizational culture principles, and strategies to enhance organizational and individual performance (supporting change management in the Risk Management Maturity)
  • Experience developing and implementing change management strategies and plans to support sustainability initiatives (supporting change management in the ESG program)
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)

Compensation Details:

  • Change Advisor 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.

Location

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
  • This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Vancouver, Halifax or Calgary.
