Senior Business Systems Analyst

About This Role:

TBSM Technology Team (TTT) is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Retail Liquidity development team.

The ideal candidate has solid understanding of Liquidity reporting regulations, experience operating as a business systems analyst on Liquidity projects, a background working within technology teams in understanding and translating business requirements to the technology development process. They should have an understanding of Liquidity, have strong leadership and communication skills, be passionate about driving the system analysis needed to shape the bank’s Liquidity reporting direction and can excel at being the point liaison between business and our technology team.

As part of this role, you’ll also provide advice, research, analysis and design of test plans, related strategies and test processes that are appropriate to the application, solution, project and/or business unit and develop test strategies for highly complex and multi-faceted projects. Sitting in this position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our Treasury alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology and finance professionals.

Our team is made up of dynamic and strong technical leads, developers, and BSA’s who build and maintain critical technology platforms in an Agile environment. You’ll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Transform business requirements and research into winning delivery solutions that meet performance goals.
2. Participate in complex applications and systems development.
3. Propose solution options; generate stakeholder support.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders on project estimates.
5. Produce top-notch functional, technical and user interface designs.
6. Take business, Enterprise Architecture, system performance and development standards requirements, then develop functional, technical, user interface designs and test plans for an application and/or system.
7. Coordinate testing and release planning and support with partners (e.g. business, Infrastructure).
8. Coordinate code deployments, maintenance upgrades and project testing across numerous environments on various technology platforms.
9. Contribute to project management activities such as: scoping and estimating project efforts, identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures.
10. Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase, identify gaps or redesign as needed.
11. Define metrics and performance goals with technology partners and peers.
12. Respect client’s technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines, business technology architecture, and risk and production capacity – this includes thorough project requirements, documentation, scope estimates and costs.
13. Identify ways to minimize cost, play a role in introducing strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience.
14. Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application (e.g. cross-capability/release issues).
15. Provide technical support to promptly resolve escalated incidents/outages.
16. Coach colleagues and act as a reference for the software development life cycle.
17. Demonstrate high level of proactivity and strong ownership.
18. Play technical leadership role and guide other team members.
19. Communicate effectively both inside and outside the team to achieve results and build strong relationships.
20. Develop a good understanding of Market Risk management processes in the Banking business.

Must Haves:

1. Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
2. 5+ years relevant experience.
3. Hands on experience in doing analysis in Liquidity Reporting / Risk Management.
4. Experience and strong knowledge in writing complex SQL statements.
5. Data mappings and transformations across multiple systems.
6. Strong keenness in completing the data onboarding and analysis by validating/testing with business stakeholders.
7. Strong communication, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
8. Commitment to applying advanced to expert knowledge of business technology delivery practices and standards and related expertise, including design, development, testing and project management.
9. Advanced to expert knowledge of system analysis process and techniques, as well as system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows and business rules.
10. Proficiency in developing test strategies for highly complex and multi-faceted projects.
11. Ability to advise on testable software builds, test data / environment / configuration / defect management, test asset control.
12. Talent in identifying risks both within and across projects and recommending ways to mitigate them.
13. Strength at managing and directing activities related to analysis, design, testing, deployment and support of technical business solutions on larger projects.
14. Experience and comfort level acting as a subject matter expert and consultant.
15. Strength in coaching and advising clients, partners and project teams.
16. Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.
