The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building datasets and data assets for BMW Financial Services.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
2. Design and develop scalable and robust pipelines for data consumption by downstream applications in support of advanced analytics.
3. Identify opportunities for improvement of existing ETL processes to enhance data integrity and accuracy.
4. Actively participate in solution design and modeling to ensure data products are developed according to best practices, standards, and architectural principles.
5. Work closely with the data architect, database administrators, and BI developers to redefine our approach to data pipelines and principles of reusability.
6. Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
7. Create data products for Business Analysts in various teams to improve productivity.
8. Respond to ad-hoc data requests within the organization in a timely manner.
9. Educate staff members through training and individual support.
10. Offer support by responding to data problems in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

1. University Degree required; Computer Science or Data Science, Statistical Analysis, Math, IT
2. Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a related field
3. Strong experience working in teams to perform ETL of data from a SQL Server
4. Financial Services or auto industry experience is strongly preferred
5. Expert in data warehouse concepts
6. Expert in writing and analyzing SQL scripts
7. Good understanding of dimensional modelling
8. Hands-on experience in various ETL tools such as Informatica and SSIS
9. Support the creation, review, and maintenance of framework, policy, and procedure documentation relating to Data Quality.
10. Management of Data Governance content (Business Glossary, Data Dictionary) with Data Quality statistics and other relevant metadata
11. Participate in project teams and collaborate as a team to deliver business outcomes
12. Self-motivated, results-driven, and strong attention to detail
13. Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills
14. Well-developed communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and leadership skills with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships
