Position Information

The Ottawa Hospital Digital Solutions team has a very exciting opportunity! We are embarking on an exciting project to expand our Epic Health Information System (HIS) Atlas Alliance to six new partners, and we are looking for Business Analysts to join our team on a Temporary Full-time capacity.

It is a 1 year temporary assignment with the possibility of extension.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Do

As an analyst, you will bring practical business knowledge to the organization by supporting and maintaining the integrity of the Health Information System. Throughout the course of your duties, you will be required to:

  1. Identify and analyze organizational needs by gathering information from end users, defining scope and objectives, and making recommendations for solutions.
  2. Understand the Epic software system and how to build/configure it to meet the needs of end users.
  3. Provide second level support for all various clinical modalities including issue triage and resolutions.
  4. Application troubleshooting, reporting and tracking issues/solutions with vendors/clients.
  5. Support regular upgrades/enhancements to the Epic system; review release notes with stakeholders, determine build requirements, configure the system, and perform application/integrated testing.
  6. Project management - plan, organize, and track projects throughout the project lifecycle while managing stakeholders and resources.

What You Will Bring

  1. University degree and/or college plus equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in Information Systems including previous experience in project management (other healthcare-based experience may also be considered).
  3. Experience leading components in the implementation of medium to large scale systems and solution design.
  4. Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills.
  7. Experience in documenting and communicating processes and procedures.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with team members.
  9. Ability to prioritize a large number of requests.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  11. Must be eligible to work in Canada.

You will stand out with:

  1. Valid Epic certification.
  2. Experience working in a large healthcare organization.
  3. Experience developing and implementing standardized policies/procedures/protocols.
  4. Experience with configuring computer systems, creating reports (SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.), and/or working in a programming environment.
  5. Experience with quality assurance of clinical systems.
  6. Ability to facilitate working sessions with large user communities and obtain agreed to functional/design and workflow requirements.
  7. Proficiency in English and French, oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
