Job description

YOU never MET A PROBLEM

YOU COULDN’T SOLVE

Location: Edmonton South (Hybrid)

In fact, you don’t know if you’ve ever met a problem because you only meet opportunities. You love the thought of turning ideas into real applications. You’re always on the hunt for innovative new technologies that can help people work smarter not just faster. You have a knack for data and details, without losing sight of the big picture. You’ve got the skills to coordinate a project from start to finish; you work well with a broad group of people and communicate clearly every step of the way.

What Moves You

  1. You’re kind of obsessed with finding simple solutions to complicated problems, and you love explaining them in an uncomplicated way that helps others see the possibilities too.
  2. When it comes to documenting processes, workflows and test scripts, you know the value of words and pictures and the importance of making sure everyone understands — even the technically challenged people on the team.
  3. Your curiosity kicks into high gear when you talk to clients and end users because you’ve got to fully understand the business problem they are trying to solve before you can offer solutions.
  4. You handle even the tightest deadlines with a cool head and clear vision.
  5. You’ve always been passionate about how technology can help solve business problems.
  6. You enjoy being the middleman — the glue between the people that use a system and the technical team that builds it.
  7. You love to share thoughts and ideas — after all, you know that two heads are always better than one and you understand the real value of teamwork.

What You’ll Do

  1. Report to the Product Owner, Analytics and Business Intelligence.
  2. Work in collaboration with various teams including business leads, data, analytics, software development, and the EPMO to support major corporate initiatives.
  3. Engage with subject matter experts to discover, capture and assess project requirements and produce required documentation including business requirements, technical requirements, user stories and workflows.
  4. Liaison with the development teams and assist in the defining of user stories, managing the backlog, reviewing the requirements, and removing obstacles with the team, and attending agile meetings.
  5. Gather, define and document business and technical requirements.
  6. Research and propose processes or technology-based solutions to meet business needs.
  7. Create clear and concise documentation for various project artifacts and processes.
  8. Help manage requests for new technology and data solutions or enhancements to existing technology.
  9. Analyze the effectiveness of existing processes and systems, then develop improvement strategies.
  10. Plan and coordinate technical/user testing, deployment, client/user acceptance and reporting.
  11. Lead or support projects.

What You’ve Done

  1. You have a college diploma in information technology, business or an equivalent.
  2. You’ll get bonus points if you have BA certification.
  3. You have at least five years under your belt, ideally in a data, analytics, or reporting-focused environment.
  4. Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment is an asset.
  5. You have strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You'll Get

  1. Competitive salary.
  2. Flexible benefits with 5 different packages to choose ranging from $1000 - $3000 health and wellness spending accounts.
  3. Outstanding employer-paid Retirement Savings Plan (5% AMA contribution + 5% matching).
  4. Great AMA discounts like 50% off memberships, driver education programs, and registry services.
  5. Unlimited learning opportunities including full Udemy access and dedicated learning time for personal development.
  6. Paid time off including 3 weeks of vacation, Me-Day, and Volunteer Day.
