Job Description

Liaise with investment managers and auditors for day-to-day operational issues. Participate in various system improvement initiatives. Prepare or co-ordinate all client financial reporting deliverables and associated reports as required. Work with internal teams, such as Client Operations, Investor Operations and Client Integration etc., to ensure all internal and external deliverables are met. Assist in developing and improving financial reporting processes. Build and maintain a strong relationship with clients, vendors and audit firms. Develop an understanding of the financial and regulatory reporting environment. Ensure all processes are performed in accordance with operational procedures and controls and all relevant checklists are completed. Keep up to date with and apply applicable regulations and accounting standards. Prepare financial statement pro forma, roll forwards, workings and drafts. Respond to various stakeholder queries in a comprehensive and timely manner. Take on ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education and Work experience

  1. Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance, accounting, mathematics or related fields.
  2. Ideally studying towards a relevant professional qualification in ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or CFA.
  3. Demonstrated experience in a financial reporting role.

Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge

  1. Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products.
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word is essential.
  3. Broad understanding of fund administration industry.
  4. Experience with accounting software Geneva, Investran or Yardi. Mantra would be beneficial but not necessary.
  5. Experience with financial reporting software Confluence, RR Donnelley, Workiva etc would be beneficial but not necessary.
  6. Broad knowledge/understanding of characteristics of various financial instruments such as equities, bonds, bank debt, derivatives.
  7. Knowledge of financial reporting, with exposure to the funds industry an advantage:
    1. Preparation of financial statements of funds (including experience with UCITs, ICAV’s, S110 etc.), with a significant amount of this time in a financial reporting role or have experience in auditing of financial services.
    2. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of FRS 102, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and IFRS.
