YOUR CHALLENGE
In this newly created position, the Senior Asset Management Advisor will have many stimulating challenges, actively participate in the company's growth, work with a seasoned team, and occupy a key position at Boralex.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Asset Management – Hydro, Solar & Storage, your role and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Develop contractual and commercial strategies for current and future asset management projects with various stakeholders to maximize the sustainability and profitability of projects in the operational phase or in the process of becoming operational. Focus will be on Hydro, Solar, and Storage (BESS) Renewable Energy assets.
- Participate in the preparation and conduct of negotiations on commercial issues and contracts related to asset management, preparing appropriate financial, gap, and risk analyses. Advise internal stakeholders and execute strategy as required until resolution.
- Author, with the support of the Asset Management team, asset-management plans based on high-level financial analyses, condition and performance of our sites, and forecasted external factors.
- Prepare and present high-level business cases on various projects to help prioritize various initiatives related to optimizations and major CAPEX for projects in the operational phase.
- Advise, through analysis, the various parties involved in asset management during the financing, acquisition, sales, or commissioning of new assets by collaborating with the North American business unit's legal, finance, development, communications, and public affairs teams.
- Coordinate and manage various projects during different mandates.
YOUR SKILLS
- University or college education, with backgrounds in finance, law, or engineering. Preferably with a concentration in business administration, MBA.
- 7-10 years' relevant experience; experience in the Renewable Energy Industry is considered a plus.
- French language skills considered a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal leadership skills.
- Excellent understanding of technical and contractual aspects. Good negotiator with the ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex contractual issues, and to solve problems with originality, creativity, and initiative.
- Experience with strategic negotiations in contracts (new or renewals) considered a plus.
- Good business sense with strong financial analysis skills and mastery of financial models.
- Highly skilled at planning, organizing, multitasking, prioritizing, and executing assigned tasks to meet multiple deadlines. Detail-oriented without losing sight of the objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, other teams, and management (within the company and with partners) in a professional manner.
- Ability to contribute lessons learned and meaningfully contribute to an environment of continuous improvement.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to work with teams and complete projects as assigned. This may include travel to active renewable energy sites for hydropower, solar, and battery storage assets.
- Active Driver's License Required.
