Your Opportunity

We are looking to expand our archaeology team and are seeking a full-time Archaeologist to lead field programs. Work will focus on projects across various service lines in the Yukon, with opportunities to contribute to projects in British Columbia.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cultural resource management assessments
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Actively participate in Stantec’s HSSE programs

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience leading field-based cultural resource management assessments, including supervising staff
  • Experience identifying traditional use sites and features, CMTs, and precontact and historical artifacts
  • Ability to hold a Class 2 Yukon Archaeological Site Regulation permit, or possess the required experience to become a permit holder in the near future
  • Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture
  • Desire to work closely with other environmental professionals and First Nations
  • Excellent technical writing skills and experience in cultural resource management, including the preparation of regulatory deliverables
  • Self-motivated and ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Yukon), or equivalent

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required. A Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management. Experience in the Yukon is an asset.
  • Experience working in remote locations is an asset.
