Your Opportunity
We are actively seeking a talented Senior Aquatic Biologist to join our aquatics team. The successful candidate could work from any of our British Columbia or Yukon office (Burnaby, Sidney, Victoria, Terrace, Quesnel, Prince George, or Whitehorse), but would ideally be in the Lower Mainland and work two to five days per week in our Burnaby, BC office (potentially negotiable). The successful candidate will work in a team environment and contribute to environmental impact assessments, environmental effects mitigation and monitoring programs, research projects, and permitting under the Fisheries Act and the Water Sustainability Act. Depending on level of expertise, tasks may include conducting or planning field work, data analysis, report and proposal writing and reviewing, preparing and delivering presentations, and business development. The successful candidate will help shape our freshwater practice in BC and beyond, supporting projects in the mining, energy, transportation, and community development sectors.

Other types of safety training are assets: Intermediate First Aid and Transportation Endorsement certificate, UTV training, Electrofishing Crew Lead certificate.
Stantec British Columbia's standard work week is 37.5 hours. This position is eligible for overtime in the office and field for hours worked in accordance with British Columbia's labour laws. Our typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining relatively sedentary. Stantec offers a flexible work arrangement for desk-based tasks including working from Stantec office locations, working from home, or a mix depending on the situation. Field work may include exposure to inclement weather, and travel through rough and remote terrain, while carrying equipment.

Salary Range(s):
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
