Job Description:

As the Senior Analyst, Risk Assessment, Issues and Exam Management for FIU Canada Operational Excellence, you will provide business support functions across multiple investigations and operational teams. Responsibilities will include drafting, executing, tracking and reporting on remediation plans across the FIU. You will play an integral role in keeping FIU aligned with regulatory expectations – proactively identifying opportunities to enhance controls. Working closely with the operational teams and executives, you'll be the primary point of contact for Challenge (e.g., 1B, 2A, etc.) and Audit partners, supporting throughout internal and regulatory engagements, including challenge, validation and closure activities. You will also execute enterprise, process, risk and control assessments, on behalf of the FIU.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide specialized business management related advice / support to management / leadership and respective teams for area(s) of specialization with industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness; understand trends, identify issues and opportunities and provide recommended action to management.
  2. Lead on the implementation of initiatives in support of the overall business/function strategy.
  3. Manage a set of business management work activities requiring coordination across multiple areas.
  4. Support / manage the integrated implementation of policies / processes / procedures / changes in across multiple functional areas.
  5. Provide subject matter expertise and/or input to projects/initiatives as a representative for area of specialization, and where necessary participate in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting implementation activities.
  6. May develop and provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.
  7. Develop and deliver presentations / communications to management or broader audience.
  8. Adhere to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines, contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
  9. Identify variances and contribute to the analysis, due diligence and implementation of initiatives and/or business operations within defined area of responsibility.
  10. Support development and/or implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize availability of service, efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Continuously enhance knowledge / expertise in own area.
  12. Keep current on emerging trends / developments and grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools and techniques.
  13. Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines.
  14. Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  15. Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  16. Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program and project managers.
  17. Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  18. Work independently as the senior analyst / subject matter expert and may coach and educate others.
  19. Considered a subject matter expert within a given area.
  20. Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end.
  21. Focus on short to medium-term issues (e.g., monthly-quarterly).
  22. Generally, reports to a Senior / Manager role.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. 5-7 years of related experience in risk management.
  3. Proficient understanding of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing obligations.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to remain agile and pivot tasks based on business requirements.
  6. Excellent time management skills.
  7. Demonstrated analytical, research and investigative skills.
  8. Comfortable with a variety of PC-based analytical and reporting software packages, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  10. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making recommendations or decisions.
  11. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  12. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  13. Knowledge of various bank products, services and applications is also considered an asset.
