Senior Analyst, Leave Management:
The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for overseeing US and Canada Leave administration and absence management. This includes benchmarking, compliance, reporting/analytics, and administration of the programs. This position will be responsible for overseeing different types of leaves, ensuring the incorporation of Canadian (provincial) regulatory requirements and FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, and statutory requirements in the U.S. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for vendor management, ensuring smooth operations related to leave policies & disability management. This role will work closely with the Benefits Manager and North American HR Community on benefits-related matters as well.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the U.S. absence programs maintaining compliance with FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, and other applicable federal and state laws.
- Coordinate the administration and implementation of disability leaves, parental, maternity, military, personal, and all other leaves in both the U.S. and Canada. This includes process improvements, transition administration and periodic benchmark of benefits.
- Provide governance and support for leave-related policies and procedures, supporting compliance with all regulatory requirements in both regions.
- Provide support for benefits-related duties in Canada over and above leave administration. Work with extended team to oversee Canada Health, Welfare and Retirement benefits including annual renewals, pension planning & administration of benefits programs and policy adjustments as needed.
- Manage relationships with external vendors supporting leave administration and disability management in US & Canada.
- Evaluate vendor performance and service delivery to maintain compliance and optimal support for employees.
- Develop and support the creation of current training related to FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, and other applicable leave laws to HR staff and people leaders.
- Partner with internal customers to update, communicate, and govern leave policies.
- Collaborate with HR, legal, and compliance teams to ensure consistency in leave policies and adherence to legal requirements.
- Prepare and analyze leave data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and overall leave program effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Benefits, with at least 2 years in leave administration.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. FMLA, ADA, ADAAA laws, and regulations.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA related laws and regulations.
- Experience and knowledge of Canadian employment and leave laws, including disability and parental leave policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CEBS/CBP will be an added advantage.
- Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors related to leave and benefits administration.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
