We are seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join our Finance Department in Victoria, BC. The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting designation (preferred) or be a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), with 2-3 years of progressive experience in the back/middle office of a large asset management or investment firm. Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension in an investment management environment would be ideal for success in this role. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate an ability to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team, engage directly with business users and application support teams, and quickly grasp new concepts and information.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Solutions, the Senior Analyst/Associate supports the BCI Finance SimCorp Dimension business users in utilizing a stable, reliable and high performing accounting book of record. This role is responsible for business analysis or projects and assignments with a mid-level of complexity and understanding of business needs and issues, and has a focus on analysis, design, and support of accounting processes for the investment management system, SimCorp Dimension.
University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, or Business Information Systems
A professional accounting designation (preferred) or chartered financial analyst (CFA)
2-3 years of progressive experience in the back/middle office of a large asset management or investment firm
Experience with SimCorp Dimension in an investment management environment
Ability to work well independently as well as with others as part of a team
Experience working directly with business users in addition to application support teams
Ability to grasp new concepts and information quickly
Excellent organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong customer service orientation
Expands knowledge of SimCorp Dimension and the customers’ needs, and ensures customers receive the optimal configuration and workflow
Participates in the development and implementation of new business processes to operationally support other departments including Investment Operations and asset classes
Supports timely and accurate delivery of tasks and projects through all stages of the project life cycle from concept to implementation
Provides advice and guidance to the Finance department to operationally support new investment strategies
Ensures all processes meet the minimum audit and internal control framework and actively adheres to compliance and risk management policies
Collaborates with Technology support staff in resolving daily production issues
Assists Finance staff to resolve technical issues, including raising issues as necessary to the Technology support team
Resolves problems in conjunction with SCD SMEs from Technology and Investment Operations departments
Helps maintain training material to support current and new business users
Maintains foundational data in SCD – this requires working with staff from Investment Operations, Performance and Attribution, and front office departments to define and maintain attributes across all portfolios
Provides advice and support to Finance users regarding implementation of new investment structures and reorganization of existing structures within SCD
Executes and validates Finance related test cases for end-to-end processes
Adheres to corporate standards for documentation of requirements and testing

Work from our downtown Victoria office. We are an in-person collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely 1-day a week.

The annualized base salary range for a Senior Analyst is CAD $90,000 - $109,000.
The annualized base salary range for an Associate is CAD $103,000-$124,000.
The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.
