About The Role
The Senior Advisor, Marketing and Communications role at TransAlta offers a dynamic opportunity to elevate our brand through website management and compelling external communications. The ideal candidate for this role is a strong communicator with a mix of website management, marketing acumen and stakeholder relationship skills. They should have an entrepreneurial, can-do mindset, a keen design sense and the ability to translate complex business strategies into clear, compelling and visually engaging communications.
This role reports to the Manager of Brand & Marketing and collaborates closely with internal business stakeholders, IT, external vendors and marketing agencies to drive business growth and brand affinity. A strong marketing eye is essential—this person must ensure all materials are well-written, visually appealing and aligned with TransAlta’s brand and corporate narrative. The ability to work with ambiguity or change and be able to drive for results is key. TransAlta’s business is not a Business-to-Consumer or even a traditional Business-to-Business model – we provide tailored complex solutions that meet the diverse needs of our customers to provide their power generation needs. If you are a creative, curious and detail-oriented professional who can merge design, messaging and marketing strategy to deliver high-impact communications then this role is for you. This is a hands-on role with a mix of strategic elements and tactical execution, as you will be building and implementing new marketing and communications foundations for the business.
This is full-time salaried position, located at our head office in Downtown Calgary with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
