POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Advisor, Knowledge Management will be a key role in the development and success of the Knowledge Management function within BDC’s Advisory Services team. This individual will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining KM systems that support the organization’s strategic objectives. The role demands a KM professional with a strong background in knowledge systems, independent work style, and expertise in influencing cultural change and managing organizational transitions.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
KM Strategy and Framework Development: Support Director, CNM/KM in developing a robust KM strategy and framework that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals, facilitates knowledge sharing, and promotes best practices.
Knowledge Repository Management: Create and manage a centralized knowledge repository to ensure the accessibility, accuracy, and relevance of information.
Content Curation and Classification: Curate and classify knowledge content, including documents, procedures, and insights, to facilitate easy retrieval and application.
Change Management and Culture Influence: Support change management initiatives to embed KM practices into the organizational culture, influencing behaviors and mindsets towards knowledge sharing.
Collaboration and Integration: Foster collaboration across departments to integrate KM into daily workflows and decision-making processes.
Training and Development: Design and conduct training sessions to educate employees on the use of KM tools and resources, enhancing their knowledge capabilities.
Performance and Impact Analysis: Support tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for KM initiatives, analyzing their impact on organizational performance and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to advocate for KM, secure buy-in, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Technology Utilization: Good understanding of Microsoft Stack and how to leverage platforms to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Knowledge Management, or a related field.
7-10 years of relevant professional experience, with a focus on knowledge management for the last 3 to 5 years.
Bilingualism with strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (English & French) is an asset.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing KM strategies in a complex organizational setting.
Strong understanding of KM principles, methodologies, systems, and best practices.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
Proven experience in change management, with a focus on cultural transformation and adoption of new practices.
Advanced proficiency in KM software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
