We are looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Toronto.

The Senior Accounts Payable Clerk will process payment of vendor invoices, client disbursements & lawyer reimbursement expenses. They will also be responsible for generating cheques and out-going wires in a high volume and challenging environment. Position is based in the Toronto office (3 days in office, 2 days remote). They will respond to vendor and lawyer/assistant inquiries in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes vendor invoices, client disbursements & lawyer reimbursement payments through the Chrome River (CR) expense management system.
  • Reviews CR submissions to ensure information is correct (i.e., proper authorizations, correct client matter numbers, GL codes, etc.).
  • Inputs information into the Aderant accounting system. Prints cheques, obtains signatures and mails out vendor payments.
  • Sets up out-going wire payments on the firm’s online banking platforms.
  • Enters beneficiary payment details online and sends emails containing supporting documents to the out-going wire approvers.
  • Files/scans back-up into the firm’s document management system.
  • Coaches and mentors other AP Clerks.
  • Handles all payment related inquiries from internal and external sources.
  • Reconciles vendor statements as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • Completion of an accounting program from a college with a minimum of 5 years work experience in accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of Chrome River and/or Aderant preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Word & Excel.
  • Good communication skills, ability to prioritize, and good computer skills.
