Senior Accountant

About the Company

Our client is a manufacturing and engineering company. They are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for providing full cycle accounting support for the company and all associated / subsidiary companies. Key responsibilities include journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement preparation. The Senior Accountant will participate in inventory management from a cost and accounting perspective and partner with all levels of the organization.

About the Opportunity

1. Lead the monthly accounting close process and overall management of General Ledger, including recording company transactions, classifications and reconciliation of account balances in accordance with company policy.
2. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
3. Preparation, reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated results under IFRS.
4. Collaboration with external auditors to provide all requested information to facilitate audit completion.
5. Collaboration with external tax advisors to provide all requested information to facilitate the preparation and timely filing of corporate tax returns.
6. Continuously evaluate workflow processes and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient operations and opportunities for process improvement while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
7. Propose recommendations for changes and improvements to accounting policies / procedures; partner with cross functional teams to develop and implement approved changes.
8. Ability to interact with all levels of associates to gain an understanding of, and resolution to, issues that pertain to the top and bottom lines.
9. Participate in inventory management from a cost and accounting perspective.
10. All other duties / projects as assigned.

About You

4+ years’ experience in a progressive accounting role.

University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business-related field, with advanced degree; CPA designation is preferred.

Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.

Ensure best practices are in place and implement improvements to key operating activities and processes.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in an organized and timely fashion with proven track record of delivering on projects and process improvements.

Salary Range

90,000 - $99,000 / year
