Aston Carter's large client in Calgary is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team! Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the accounting team. The person in this role demonstrates a proactive approach and initiative when handling reporting and analytical activities to ensure that all tasks are handled efficiently, professionally, and in a timely manner.

This person must be highly organized, with excellent time management and planning skills, and strong attention to detail.

The position encompasses a multitude of accounting activities under tight deadlines, including the preparation of accurate and timely financial and operational accounting deliverables, data analysis, account reconciliations, and year-end and quarterly audit/review preparation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare annual financial statements, coordinate communication & information internally, and act as the primary audit contact with external auditors.
2. Prepare quarterly reports for detailed qualitative and quantitative data analysis for presentation to Senior Management and distribution to partners.
3. Prepare various working papers in support of quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A.
4. Prepare various financial and operational analysis for the desk and field audits relating to credit facility.
5. Prepare quarterly internal financial statements for various legal entities for management, tax, and board review.
6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
7. Coach and mentor other team members.
8. Assist with ad hoc requests as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Haves:

1. 7+ years of experience in full cycle accounting.
2. MS Excel experience.
3. Project-based work, must be able to untangle information.

Nice to Haves:

1. CPA Designation (Open to ACCA/CA designation).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.26/hr.
