A.S.P. is looking for Respite Security Specialist Supervisor, who take pride in providing a safe and secure environment and customer services in the most courteous manner. What you will do:
- Providing Security Guard Services at the City of Toronto Building, through operating Security Systems, monitoring and patrolling.
- Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, that includes responding to routine, emergency, and security & law enforcement calls.
- Acting as an ambassador of the client site by providing customer service, responding to public inquiries, and performing guard tours along designated routes. Assist in the movement of visitors and staff.
- Managing and leading a team of Security Specialists.
- Maintaining an open line of communication with the client and A.S.P Incorporated.
- Observing, investigating, and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft and malfunction or interruption of utilities and informing designated authorities in event of emergency.
- Documenting all security incidents into a clear, concise complete and accurate security incident report.
- Activating fire alarm and safety systems and assisting in evacuation procedures. Escorting designated authorities, police, fire, ambulance personnel to emergency location.
- Enforcement of the Trespass to Property act including physically removing individuals found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts on premises or the assigned property.
- Access Control and screening unauthorized persons and physically removing persons found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts or breaching the policies.
- Recording and maintaining logbook of daily activities, unusual or special occurrences and issuance of equipment to staff.
- Performing duties such as open-up and lock-down procedures, bomb threat searches and security/life safety equipment inspections and testing.
- Performing emergency response duties in accordance with the Emergency Response Manual, including escorting designated authorities, police, fire, ambulance personnel to emergency locations.
- Receiving/recording complaints, conducting investigations, preparing incident reports, and conducting follow up investigations.
- Liaising with Shelter Management to communicate any issues and challenges to site operations and reporting any health and safety concerns of fire and life safety concerns.
Who you are:
- 1 year of Canadian Police or Canadian Armed forces experience.
- Graduate from a recognized community college in the field of law enforcement, security administration or related field, including justice studies, social service, mental health and/or healthcare.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience within North American security industry and experience in a related security function.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience within North American experience in a related security supervisory function.
- Asset to have: G class Driver's License & a clean drivers abstract and be over 25 years old to qualify (Mobile Security experience is an asset).
- Hands-on experience with making or assisting arrests.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Ability to work in high stress environment.
- Ability to make quick and informed decisions.
- Licensed by the Province of Ontario as a registered Security Guard and must maintain the license for the duration of employment.
- Smart Serve, De-Escalation, SCDT, Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of common security policies and various related Acts, Codes and legislation, including the Criminal Code, the Trespass to Property Act, the Fire Code and WHMIS.
