About the team:

The Data and Privacy Protection Technology Lab is dedicated to ensuring user data flows while maintaining privacy. Researchers focus on key areas such as user identity authentication, data integrity, privacy protection, extensive model privacy assessment, multi-modal data identification, differential privacy, and federated learning. The lab supports deep research and encourages publications in leading journals. Research outcomes are applied across various Huawei product lines, including mobile phones, smart devices, and communications technologies.

About the job:

  1. Participate in the research of access control and rights management technologies, such as discretionary access control, mandatory access control, attribute-based access control, dynamic access control, rights management system, etc.
  2. Participate in the proposing, designing, and prototyping of innovative rights and access control technologies for Huawei Endpoint devices.
  3. Producing insights into technology development in both academia and industry.
  4. Work closely with other research labs worldwide and product teams to optimize the solution and deliver concrete impact to real products.

About the ideal candidate:

  1. PhD Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or Master's Degree with 4+ years experience in related fields.
  2. Deep understanding of rights and access control mechanisms in popular platforms such as Linux, MacOS, and Android.
  3. Proven programming ability in C++/C, and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  4. Good understanding of security concepts: symmetric-key cryptography (block ciphers, MAC, and authenticated encryption), and public key cryptography (digital signatures, encryption, and key establishment).
  5. Experience with kernel development is an asset.
  6. Experience with cryptographic libraries (e.g. OpenSSL, GMP) is an asset.
  7. Experience with machine learning and deep learning is an asset.
