Security Guard - Park - Temporary

Job Skills / Requirements In this role, you will be working in a busy public park in the summer months. You will be responsible for safety enforcement and traffic control.

Shifts Timings: 0930 to 1630
Wage: $25.00 +
Dates: May 15th 2025 to Sept. 1st 2025

We are looking for teammates, who are:

• Confident, assertive, and professional when interacting with the public.
• Able to assist and resolve parking-related issues at the site.
• Perform Traffic Control Person (TCP) and First-Aid duties, while ensuring unauthorized individuals leave the premises.
• Comfortable driving a Paladin vehicle and conducting foot patrols.
• Comfortable using security radios to communicate with teammates.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct outdoor patrols for the entire shift in all weather conditions.
• Respond promptly to accidents and emergencies at the site.
• Report and escalate issues to the Security Command Centre as needed.
• Work alongside police, fire, and ambulance services when required.
• Write detailed incident reports on security concerns or property damage.
• Maintain positive interactions with the public and client staff.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Manage incidents with a calm and professional demeanor.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in the security industry.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• A valid AST (Advanced Security Training) and IFA (OFA-2) certification.
• Own vehicle for commuting to and from the site.
• Availability to work 7-hour shifts on weekends and statutory holidays.
• TCP (Traffic Control Person) certification is an asset (training provided).
• Handcuff training and self-defense experience are preferred (training provided).
• Ability to work outdoors without shelter and engage with the public.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills (both verbal and written).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Post-secondary education in Criminology or Law Enforcement is an asset.
