SECURITY GUARD - FULL-TIME

Location: Yorkton, SK

We are seeking a permanent full-time security guard for the Yorkton, SK area.

If you don't currently hold a valid security guard license or certificate, we will pay for your training and guide you through every step of the process of obtaining your full security license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
2. Operates an onsite utility vehicle to conduct extensive patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
3. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
4. Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
5. Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
6. Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
7. Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
8. Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
9. Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid provincial Security Guard Certificate or License (preferred)
2. Full class 5 driver's license
3. Able to work Saturday - Tuesday: 0600 - 2200
4. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.
5. Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
6. Reliable means of transportation
7. Excellent organizational skills
8. Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
9. Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.
10. Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols
11. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
12. First Aid/ CPR is considered an asset.
