Security Guard

Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires keen observation skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols.

Duties

1. Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
2. Operate and maintain CCTV equipment to ensure effective monitoring of designated areas.
3. Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
4. Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
5. Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks or hazards.
6. Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or fraud attempts and reporting them accordingly.
7. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities for management review.

Skills

1. Valid Ontario Security Guard License
2. Standard First Aid & Level C CPR certification
3. Proficient in surveillance techniques and the operation of CCTV systems - this is a bonus
4. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols is highly desirable.
5. Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during shifts.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
7. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal, Freelance

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
