Within the Security Integration team, our mission is to support the TELUS Health CSO in ensuring potential acquisitions align with our established security standards. By applying expertise in cybersecurity risk management we strive to maintain TELUS Health as the industry leader allowing our customers to have the utmost confidence that their data is secured at the highest levels.

As a Security Consultant II, you will support the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team in vetting the security of a target acquisition, as well as, manage the planning, coordination and execution of security integration post-acquisition. You will work closely with key teams within the CSO, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team, Post Acquisition Integration team, CIO, Product, and business teams to coordinate integration activities so we move forwards with one set of cyber security standards.

Here's how:

  1. Conduct comprehensive security due diligence on potential acquisition targets. This includes identifying necessary budget to onboard security controls for the target acquisition.
  2. Identify and recommend measures to mitigate security risks.
  3. Prepare detailed reports on security findings and present them to senior management.
  4. Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of security integration post-acquisition.
  5. Assist in maintaining and improving the security integrations program.

What you bring:

  1. 5 years’ of work experience across different areas of cybersecurity.
  2. Experience performing risk assessments, interpreting penetration test results, threat analysis, and vulnerability management.
  3. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network security, and data protection.
  4. Solid knowledge of security tools and technologies such as Endpoint Protection and Response (EDR), firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
  5. Exceptional analytical skills with an ability to interpret security data and make informed decisions.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technology, product, privacy, legal and business development.
  7. Ability to work autonomously, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Be proactive in addressing potential problems before they occur.
  9. Strong attention to detail to ensure security aspects are not overlooked.
  10. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Great-to-Haves:

  1. Experience in M&A activities particularly in the due diligence phase.
  2. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
