Seasonal Bakery Assistant

Temporary bakery prep/assistant position available at Hot Oven, a bakery located in the Covent Garden Market in the heart of downtown, London, Ontario. We are looking for a hard-working individual for the busy winter holiday market season. Note that this is a temporary position, with potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.

About us:

Hot Oven specializes in Burek, a traditional stuffed European phyllo pastry. We have been in business for over 25 years and have an established customer base which always keeps us busy. We sell one specialty product, and therefore it is essential that we maintain a very high standard of quality control in our process. We have a great team with good camaraderie.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Handling customers and processing payments
• Food preparation and packaging, mixing ingredients
• Cleaning dishes, floors, counters, storefront, etc.
• Multitasking the above responsibilities throughout the day
• Closing store
• Maintaining a clean store
• Problem solving

The ideal candidate is/has:

• Hard working
• Punctual
• In good physical condition
• Good attention to detail
• A team player
• Kitchen experience

Hours:

• 25-40 hours/week

Availability:

The ideal candidate for this role has the following availability at a minimum:

• Friday 8am-7pm
• Saturday 8am-7pm
• Sunday 8am-5pm

Flexible availability on weekdays is an asset.

Food handler's license is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
