Apply for the School Psychologist - Permanent positions role at ANGLOPHONE NORTH SCHOOL DISTRICT.

The C&Y ISD team provides integrated assessment and intervention services to children, youth, and families with identified multiple needs as defined by the 5 core areas of development (health and wellness; emotional and behavioral functioning; family relationships; educational development and mental health). This service is based on an Integrated Service Delivery framework that includes collaboration among the Departments of Health, Education, Social Development, and Public Safety. C&Y teams are comprised of Addiction and Mental Health Clinicians (social workers, clinical psychologists, and nurses), School Psychologists, School Social Workers, Community Support Workers, and Education Support Teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a broad range of professional psychological services in the school system, applying the science of psychology to areas of student learning and behavior, understanding of child and adolescent exceptionalities, and psychological adjustment.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, other school personnel, and parents in a collaborative process of defining problems and developing appropriate programs and interventions.
  • Conduct individual student psychological assessments, participate in in-service education, and assist in the development and implementation of preventive and crisis response programs, as well as program evaluation.
  • Travel is required.

Qualifications

A Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology with coursework and experience to meet the requirements for licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Successful completion of coursework in child and adolescent development and exceptionalities is required. Experience in school psychology is desirable. The successful candidate must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, Child and Youth Teams, and Education Support Services Teams. Knowledge of school-based decision-making and policies would be an asset.

Necessary Special Requirement

Licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick or application pending.

In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, if you are not eligible for licensure as a Psychologist I, candidates will be considered for employment as a Psychometrist II until meeting requirements for licensure.
