About The Role
We are seeking a Scheduler to join our team. This role involves managing projects exceeding $50MM annually with a multiyear duration and extreme complexity. The ideal candidate will be an expert in project planning and scheduling, particularly with Primavera P6 software, and will provide leadership and direction to project execution personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee projects with budgets exceeding $50MM annually, ensuring successful execution over multiyear durations.
- Utilize expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6 software for project planning and scheduling.
- Interpret internal and external business issues, recommending best practices and innovative solutions.
- Solve complex problems independently, seeking guidance only in the most challenging situations.
- Provide clear direction and support to project execution personnel, demonstrating strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Competency And Decision Making
- Recognized as a Project Controls expert within the Major Projects department.
- Capable of troubleshooting specific controls issues related to scheduling and implementing necessary changes.
- Make sound judgments that consider project impact and effects, with decisions typically accepted as accurate and feasible.
Supervision And Leadership
- Work is assigned based on objectives, priorities, and critical areas impacting other units.
- Operate within broad guidelines, with informed guidance available as needed.
- Provide leadership by assigning and outlining work, advising on problems, and reviewing work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
Education And Experience
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, P.Eng (or equivalent).
- 7-10 years of working experience, including 2+ years in relevant construction or project experience.
- Proven high performer, as evidenced by prior performance reviews.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Location and Travel
- The successful candidate will be based in the Chatham, Ontario office, with an expectation to be on-site (local project support) 3-4 days a week during construction.
- Some travel is required, primarily within 100km of the Chatham office location. A valid driver's abstract is required.
- Mileage and expenses will be reimbursed as incurred.
