Scale Clerk/Receptionist

Status : Permanent, Full-Time

Schedule : Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Place of Work: 17554 Plover Mills Road, Thorndale, ON N0M 2P0.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a truck weigh scale to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks, ensuring proper documentation of weights and product types;
• Issue proper documentation to drivers while maintaining accurate records in compliance with industry policies and regulations;
• Maintain accurate files for scale tickets, invoices and other documentation;
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to scale operations and inventory;
• Communicate with drivers and terminal staff to ensure smooth and safe operations during loading and unloading;
• Provide support to customers regarding orders, schedules, and product availability;
• Answer incoming phone calls and emails and direct them to the appropriate person;
• Support the Manager with administrative tasks, including data entry, planning and coordination of logistics;
• Assist in inventory management by tracking incoming and outgoing shipments;
• Communicate with terminal personnel to ensure product being shipped is consistent with associated release numbers;
• Monitor and report any operational or safety concerns to appropriate personnel;
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations;
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the weigh room and receiving area.

Qualifications & Skills:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent;
• Experience in administration, logistics, or agriculture;
• Possesses organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to details;
• Demonstrates customer service and interpersonal skills;
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs;
• Able to work effectively in a team environment and in a fast-paced Terminal;
• Proficient in using computers and software applications;
• Valid G drivers licence;
• Ability to learn to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift, loader, and railcar mover.
