Satellite Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

The Mission

Munich-based OroraTech is developing a constellation of nano-satellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection, severe weather warnings and many other applications, as well as its own microsatellite platform for in-house and customer missions, with ten assets on orbit. We are looking for a senior systems engineer as technical lead for the mission WildfireSat Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Be the technical lead for the payload segment of a satellite constellation, as part of our missions-spanning systems engineering team.
2. Communicate with external stakeholders such as the Canadian Space Agency or the Prime Contractor (together with Project Management).
3. Prepare and coordinate technical reviews with space agencies and the prime contractor.
4. Be responsible for requirements engineering, including full system traceability.
5. Be responsible for verification and validation plans.
6. Apply end-to-end systems analysis and modeling and the subsequent allocation and management of technical budgets/tolerances.

Relevant Skills

1. Experience in Satellite Systems Engineering from Phase A to Operations.
2. Experience in Requirements Engineering.
3. Experience in Satellite Architectures.
4. Experience as a Technical Project Lead.
5. Understanding of Embedded Electronics.
