Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, the Global Markets Division brings together the Research, Investment and Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Clearing, Prime Services, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Currencies & Commodities structuring capabilities with the objective of providing investors with one integrated multi-asset market solutions team. Global Markets is a leading player in derivatives, with unrivaled over the counter and listed derivatives expertise, as well as cross-asset and economic research. Société Générale Capital Canada operates as an investment dealer regulated by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). We specialize in execution, clearing, and prime brokerage services for listed and OTC derivatives, cash fixed income, foreign exchange, and equities products. Additionally, we provide an energy trading portal that grants our clients access to energy futures & options, as well as OTC swaps. As one of the top participants in the derivatives markets on both the Montreal Exchange and ICE Futures Canada, we are recognized for our significant volume and market share. This opportunity is to join our dynamic team based in Montreal.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Canadian derivatives sales and trading team, focusing on the sales and execution of both listed and OTC cross-asset derivatives for institutional clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Supporting the Institutional Sales team by executing transactions in listed and OTC derivatives markets on behalf of our clients.
  • Assisting the Institutional Sales team with various tasks related to marketing, onboarding, and business development.
  • Collaborating with the Institutional Sales team to generate trade ideas in derivatives.
  • Developing automation processes and tools, while documenting internal procedures.

Required

Profile required

Must Have:

  • Exceptional client service skills and a strong work ethic.
  • High integrity and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good knowledge of VBA/Excel and/or other programming languages.
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience in Financial Markets.

Nice to Have:

  • A positive outlook, intellectual curiosity, and a keen interest in derivatives markets.
  • Desired certifications include: CSC exams I and II; Conduct and Practices Handbook Course; Derivatives, Futures, and Options Course.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (financial engineering, economics) or an MBA.
  • CFA program completed or in progress.

Languages: French and English

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
