Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence & Strategy and as a key member of the Recreational Commercial Team, you will help design and execute strategic plans and tactics to achieve our financial objectives. You will be responsible for supporting commercial team initiatives – assortment analyses, category and market research, innovation strategy, forecasting, and providing data-based strategic recommendations to the business.
As the Sales Strategy Analyst you will…
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Development, and Insights & Analytics) to develop strategies to grow Aurora’s categories
- Develop business cases and recommendations leveraging consumer-insights & financial projections for innovations that support our brand and category plans
- Analyze and build tools to assist in the on-going analysis of complex data, to identify consumer and business insights to enable decision making
- Be a highly visible and integral team member, working directly with Aurora’s management team to support growth objectives
- Assess market share, in-market product performance, competitive price positioning, market category trends, portfolio revenue/margin mix, forecasting and forecast accuracy, product life cycle analyses, and inventory management analyses
- Innovate, explore, and test new ideas in an environment where creativity and experimentation are highly encouraged
- Assist on ad hoc projects as required
You would be the best fit for this role if you have…
- University degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of work experience in a Strategy, Analytics, Sales, Category Management, or Innovation role
- Experience in analytics, consumer insights, and forecasting
Bonus points if you have…
- Superior knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Cannabis & CPG industry experience
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to assess and build category P&L statements, and measure product profitability
- PowerBI experience
- Passion for consumer insights and understanding market dynamics
- Superior communication and business case skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data
- An agile mindset with a passion for problem-solving
