One Floral Group is a wholesale flower producer that provides tailored floral solutions to retail customers throughout North America and is one of the fastest growing producers of floral products. Our business has over four million square feet of growing and production space in more than six facilities in three different climate zones. We have the ability to grow and build a variety of products, including potted plants and planters, outdoor lawn and garden plants, and vegetable propagation in the best conditions.
The position requires a detail-oriented and flexible individual that is willing to work as a team member and independently. The individual should possess above average accuracy and organizational skills, be able to problem solve, have excellent follow-through procedures, interpersonal, good verbal & written communication skills, and ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy atmosphere.
Education and skills required:
- Diploma or degree in Marketing/Communication
- 2+ years of experience in marketing or related field (greenhouse or agriculture experience an asset)
- General understanding of marketing principles, best practices, and analytics
- Action oriented and takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities and follows through to successful completion
- Eye for detail with excellent organizational skills, ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Excels in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Photography and beginner editing skills is an asset
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Business Central 24 experience is an asset
Primary Responsibilities
Customer & Product Knowledge
- Understanding the products grown by the organization.
- Understanding procedures required to obtain, process and deliver product to customers.
- Strong geographical understanding of where our customers are located.
- Strong understanding of our current and potential customers.
- Understanding of the markets we ship to and what other suppliers ship into the markets – market research after each holiday.
Main Duties
- Maintain clear and accurate communication among internal departments as follows;
- Work with vendors on packaging options for upcoming seasons.
- Build tagging and branded pot options for certain lines of business.
- Build presentations for customers based on strategic packaging plan.
- Meet with sales team and customers regarding upcoming packaging.
- Work with Business Development Manager/ finance team on costing of items to ensure they work with the cost flow.
- Work with operations on selections for sleeves and corrugate requirements based on plant specs – final fit and finish.
- Maintaining packaging file for internal use, coordinating with purchasing/planning dept.
- Maintain master reference file for operations use.
- Ensure purchasing team cuts PO’s and packaging ordered is on time arrival.
- Ensure existing inventory is used on programs.
- Work with Logistics to move correct packaging to correct locations.
- Provide supply team upcoming requirements needed at all locations.
- Review ERP system for inventory levels and WIP inventory.
- Posting on all social media platforms with approved content.
- Image photographs of all products being shipped.
- Update and manage the company website.
Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Recognize unsafe conditions and practices, and report these to prevent injuries and property loss.
- Follow and enforce Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook. The Occupational Health & Safety Act, and other relevant Codes and Standards.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in Office settings with Greenhouse visits as required
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Ability to use various type of equipment to perform job duties
- Hours of work (typically Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm); full workweek with overtime when needed including weekend and holidays to meet customer/business needs
- Ability to travel to visit facilities when required (Canada and U.S.)
Additional Information
- Reporting to: Business Development Manager
- Start Date: ASAP
- Salary: negotiable based on experience
- Hours of work: M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Vacation: 3 weeks of prorated vacation
- Personal day: 2 days per calendar year
