Sales Associate (Seasonal Contract)

Positions are available from March or April to the end of August, and students will work as seasonal contract employees in various departments as per business needs. The positions will be spread across four locations in the Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth, Halifax, Lower Sackville), and students will be an important part of this drive.

Sales Associate (Seasonal Contract)

As a Sales Associate, you will help customers fully understand their needs and assist in selecting the right products for their requirements. As knowledgeable sales professionals, sales associates can make recommendations that solve customers' problems and enhance their shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and team player.
• Sales and customer service experience is an asset.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Ability to work days/evenings/weekends (rotating shifts).
• Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D365) used to process orders.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
• Clarify and understand customers’ needs and take them to the best solution(s) for their projects.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
• Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions.
• Produce quotes, material lists, and follow up.
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service.
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
• Continually learn about products and market conditions.
• Be flexible and happy to work various shifts as per store requirements.
