Deveraux Developments is currently searching for a Safety Advisor in Edmonton. What you bring...

  • A Minimum designation of NCSO.
  • Problem solver with a can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Safety Advisor, or a similar role, in the Construction Industry.
  • Computer skills and a willingness to learn new software programs as required.
  • Knowledge of Procore Project Management software would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of national, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Train the trainer qualifications are highly desirable. (i.e., Fall Protection, Forklift, Flagger, WHMIS)
  • Must have Advanced First Aid.

You will...

  • Be project based in Edmonton.
  • Update and ensure statistic/trends/paperwork is tracked and entered into our system.
  • Monitor Company and sub-contractor compliance on-site to the Occupational, Health & Safety Legislation and other applicable provincial and federal legislation and standards.
  • Be responsible and accountable for continuously improving the company’s safety program on site.
  • Safety manual review, create and update, Safe Job Procedures and Safe Work Practices to maximize the safety of critical tasks.
  • Lead new employee site orientations and sub-trade orientations, training new workers in WHMIS.
  • Completing and following-up with onsite inspections, hazard assessments, and keeping updated and current with all aspects of safety legislation.
  • Ensure first aid is available, kits are stocked, and fire extinguishers are readily available and in proper working condition. Ensure all other additional emergency equipment is available as required.
  • Professionally interact with subcontractors, to establish a strong collaborative safety culture on the assigned project.
  • Collaborate with the Deveraux project team to foster and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work with the Deveraux team to maintain an ACSA COR Certification.
  • Assist with and or administer the site WCB Worker injury, employer reports, and modified work program.
