RQ07958 - Sr. Business Intelligence Specialist

Supports Clients wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions.

Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data.

Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of opportunity and key-trend alerts.

Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives.

General Skills:

1. Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data).
2. Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems.
3. Experience with developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a wide range of data repositories (relational and multi-dimensional data stores).
4. Experience with developing, implementing, and maintaining schedule/dependency logic for Extract Transform Load (ETL) scripts.
5. Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed.
6. Experience with developing automation extraction, cleansing, and load scripts.
7. Experience generating research models and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc).
8. Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience.
9. Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process re-engineering and complex data models using UML.

11. Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. business, logical, and physical models) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modeling methodology and guidelines.

1. Knowledge and experience in developing data analysis applications.
2. Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
3. Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes.
4. Hands-on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications.
5. Extensive experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modeling tools like Power Designer, and Visio.
6. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.

Technical Skills - 35%

1. Demonstrates experience with designing and developing using the Microsoft suite of BI tools (SQL Server, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).
2. Demonstrates design and development experience as a BI Programmer/Developer.
3. Developing cubes, reports, and dashboards using SSAS and SSRS and Power BI.
4. Demonstrates experience with documenting code changes.
5. Demonstrates experience developing and using reusable components to assist with BI processes, and providing detailed documentation for the tools that are developed.
6. Demonstrates experience with developing, debugging, and enhancing the performance of complex SQL queries.
7. Demonstrates experience working with SQL Server (2016 or later) / Azure SQL Database, Oracle (11 x and higher).
8. Demonstrates experience with enhancing the performance of SQL Queries.
9. Demonstrates experience developing for WCAG AA compliance in web and reporting applications.
10. Demonstrates experience working Azure Active Directory, Auth0 or other single sign-on token-based authentication solutions.
