RPN/RN for School Nursing Shift (10am -2pm) - Maternity Leave Coverage

CareKW is looking for skilled and reliable nurses to join our Nursing Team to provide care in a school environment in Hamilton.

Please note that this role is covering for a maternity leave, the duration will be between 12-18 months.

Role Includes:

• Medication administration
• Perform physical patient assessments
• Perform patient and family health teaching
• Monitor, assess, and document changes in the patient’s condition
• Assist with activities of daily living
• Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to determine and implement the patient plan of care
• Additional opportunities as assigned by Nursing Supervisor

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Must be comfortable travelling to different schools in the Hamilton area
• Current registration with the College of Nurses, candidate must be in good standing
• Experience with G-Tube Care and feed is required
• Tracheostomy and ventilation care experience is considered an asset
• Experience in community nursing is considered an asset
• Valid work/study permit (if applicable)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 3 months of hire)
• Up-to-date Immunization Records (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B, COVID-19)
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to follow client care plan
• Strong communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent patient service skills
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
