Job description

Our client is a Fortune 500 company looking for a RPN/Paramedic/Military Medical Tech who will provide functions such as First Aid to injured or ill employees and proactively analyze tasks for potential safety issues.

Location: Brampton, ON

Start Date: December 2, 2024

Duration: 2 Months - possibility of extension or becoming permanent

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 18:00-05:00

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide triage, first aid, and/or referral to outside medical provider, if indicated.
  • Maintain all records of treatment given to associates.
  • Maintain first-aid kits, inventory supplies, restock, and clean equipment used in the treatment of associates.
  • Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and senior leadership team.
  • Provide analysis of all onsite incidents on a monthly basis including recommendations on how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries.
  • Initiate and maintain Worker’s Compensation cases when applicable.
  • Update the communication board with medical and safety tips.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site, either within a group setting at New Hire Orientation or through one-on-one interaction.
  • Participate, as needed, in incident investigations and weekly case management review meetings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Must have a valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority; AND
  • Must have one of the following: Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators; OR Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health; OR in the last year, six months job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces).
  • Ability to communicate safety needs at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills: analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
  • Certified to teach First-Aid, CPR, and AED - Preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations - Preferred.
  • Experience with Worker’s Compensation - Preferred.
