Position Summary
This Superintendent position oversees the planning, scheduling, dispatching and supervision of the staff and resources of a large geographically remote office/specific worksite to meet customer service requests. The role involves ensuring all logistics issues from the initial work request to the closing of the work order are performed efficiently, and ensures the accuracy of customer invoicing, employee compensation and resource utilization. The position looks for opportunities to convey Tacten’s vision to be a trusted partner by reducing the client’s overall cost to operate and improve customer satisfaction.
Schedule:
This is a 14/14 shift (11.5 hour days) schedule. Candidates must be able to Fly-in/Fly-Out from major Alberta based hubs (Calgary or Edmonton) or be local to Fort McMurray, AB.
Responsibilities
- Interface daily with the client regarding work priorities and progress of projects.
- Assign hours for scope execution.
- Create and distribute work packages.
- Develop and maintain work methods, procedures, standards, and training to support both client and Acuren employees at site level.
- Work closely with client planning team and demonstrate clear understanding of deliverables when walking down job scopes.
- Actively promote Tacten safety culture by utilizing best practices, ensuring use of correct procedures, identifying, and mitigating hazards, and leading by example.
- Manage and direct multiple mechanical and NDE rope crews and confirm clear understanding of work scope and deliverables.
- Coordinate with local logistics team to ensure employees and site leads have the resource load, equipment, training, and tools to perform their jobs proficiently.
- Mentor and actively participate in performance management of site employees.
Requirements
- Understanding and knowledge of Tacten’s range of technical services and variety of service lines provided in order to appropriately deploy resources.
- Minimum of 10 years’ industry experience, preferably in a refinery or oil and gas setting.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Certified, previously certified, or extensive knowledge in mechanical trade work.
- Experience working with mechanical trades (welding/pipefitting/rope access).
- Certified, previously certified, or extensive knowledge in NDT methods. Must have a working knowledge of each method to ensure the proper craft type is being utilized for the job scope requirements.
- IRATA Rope Access certified.
- Experience with mechanical integrity related to refinery failure mechanisms.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships, successfully anticipating and managing client expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous demands.
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills to support a collaborative team approach to delivering results.
- Service and results-oriented, with the ability to build trust with a broad network of professional colleagues, subcontractors, and team members.
- Exceptional client engagement skills with the ability to competently articulate Acuren’s value proposition.
- Competent with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Consistently demonstrates, has understanding of, and compliant with responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Acuren’s Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures.
