Job description

A Room Attendant is responsible to maintain room quality and cleanliness; clean guest rooms in accordance with established quality and performance standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean guest rooms for sale; and clean occupied guest rooms.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standards.
  2. Organize and stock cleaning cart and organize linen closets on floors assigned.
  3. Complete any assigned paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  5. Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
  6. Assist other housekeeping team members in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas.
  7. Comply with HVD Occupational Health and Safety Programs and the Regulation of WorkSafeBC.
  8. Set a good safety example.
  9. Maintain that the work area, tools and equipment are clean, organized and in safe condition.
  10. Report any service discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor to resolve where possible.
  11. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You must be available for weekend shifts – Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
8 hours for 5 days working.
Flexibility is important.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Should feel comfortable in speaking with guests and capable of assisting them with information.
Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge.
Working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs on a regular and continuous basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
1 year of previous cleaning experience in a hotel setting preferred.
Must follow all policies and procedures and Brand Standards.
The hotel is unable to assist with international candidates obtaining Canadian work authorization.
