Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 (Salary scale commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Responsibilities

• Supervising roofing foremen and all commercial roofing field operations
• Overseeing in-progress production work to ascertain appropriate schedule and certify that labour and material for individual projects meet allotted budgets
• Monitoring and ensuring that safety rules on site are adhered to in relation to both project specific plans and company safety policies
• Ensuring safety paperwork, including safety talks, JSA’s and inspections on individual sites are carried out
• Working with roofing foreman to address material requirements
• Collaborating with the Purchaser and Fleet/Equipment Manager to schedule material and equipment shipments, deliveries, and loading
• Working directly with on-site inspection, consulting to rectify or enhance required installation details deliberating with project management as necessary
• Communicating with architects, engineers, consultants, building operators, building owners, and property managers as necessary
• Engaging in daily discussions with management and disseminating information
• Providing leadership to employees and ensuring company policies are followed
• Being aware of and prepared to act upon company disciplinary policy
• Performing roof inspections, take-offs, detail drawings, and extensions
• Liaising with service department projects as required
• Managing job site crises, emergencies, and unforeseen issues as necessary
• Liaising, coordinating, and communicating with subcontractors (gravel removal, cranes, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical) for work on site
• Recruiting new workers to the company
• Participating in the training of production and service crews
• Ensuring daily crew hours are forwarded to the management team and/or input into the job cost control program
• Preparing and tracking all paperwork (inspection reports, deficiency reports, change orders, etc.) relative to individual jobs and dispensing to management
• Assisting in pre-project hazard assessment, set-up, pre-load, mobilization, production, and demobilization
• Ensuring professionalism and cleanliness at all job sites
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industrial, commercial flat roofing industry, in either supervision or work experience is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend job specifications and contract documents. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
• Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to clients, consultants, and other employees within the company as needed.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems in a creative manner.
• Ability to relate well to all kinds of people, building constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work at a fast-paced professional level.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Roofing Superintendent: 1 year (preferred)
